Tiamat is one of the most feared villains in Dungeons and Dragons, but now she’s on your side!
For the uninitiated, Tiamat is a massive five-headed dragon and one of the biggest baddies of the D&D Forgotten Realms setting. This many-mouthed monstrosity is an excellent translation from its original setting in both its flavor and mechanics.
For starters, each one of Tiamat’s heads represents one of the chromatic dragons that conveniently comes in the same five varieties as mana in MTG (black, blue, green, white, and red) that, in addition to two colorless mana, you will be paying to summon her to your field. This 7/7 flyer wouldn’t be called the “Queen of Evil Dragonkind” if she didn’t bring her subjects along with her. When Tiamat enters the battlefield from casting only, you may search your library for five differently named dragons to put in your hand. Not too shabby for a “Dragon God.”
As a legendary creature sporting all five colors, Tiamat is an obvious candidate to lead your dragon commander deck that you can already start building here on BlackLotusGo!
