Izzet in Commander has no shortage of cards that make you want to play an "instants and sorceries matter" theme, and there are already plenty of legendary creatures that encourage this. But Veyran, Voice of Duality from Commander 2021 gives us an interesting new angle to build this type of deck and perhaps enables us to attack (like actually attack with creatures) in a different way than we're used to as Izzet mages!
The first thing we wanted to do a comprehensive Gatherer search for was every single permanent card that we can trigger an additional time with Veyran. It turns out there's quite a few:
There's so many options here that this archetype can definitely be built in several different ways. At first glance, it seems like it might be interesting to try and make an aggressive creature version work, though of course there are plenty of value cards that are just too good to not play.
Next up, we went searching for awesome instants and sorceries to cast with our copying and casting theme.
