Squirrels are a beloved tribe to many Magic: the Gathering players, but until they have been lacking in robust enough support to truly build around them. That changes with Modern Horizons 2, as we finally are graced with the presence of Chatterfang, Squirrel General.
Forestwalk is just here for flavor, and the final ability is some nice added utility (that also lets us run black if we want to run Chatterfang as our Commander!), but the real powerful ability is the token generation. A deck featuring Chatterfang will want to focus on high quantities of small tokens, whether it's a dedicated squirrel deck or just any effect that create 1/1 tokens. You can also get creative and create squirrels out of thin air by creating other types of tokens such as Treasure, Food, or Clue tokens. The ability to essentially double our squirrel tokens is an incredibly powerful effect for just three mana, so we are excited to see if we get any additional support for the tiny tribe!
